Atlético Ottawa will host Canadian Premier League (CPL) opponents Pacific FC in the quarter-finals of the TELUS Canadian Championship next Wednesday at TD Place (KO 7pm ET, live on OneSoccer).
This is the first match of a two-legged tie, with the winner on aggregate progressing (should it end in a tie, the team with the most away goals will progress) to the semi-finals to face the winner between Cavalry FC and Major League Soccer (MLS) side Vancouver Whitecaps. Atlético Ottawa set multiple new records during the preliminary round, beating Valour FC 7-0. This was the first time any team had scored seven goals in TELUS Canadian Championship history, the first time a team recorded a win with a margin of seven goals, and the biggest win in Atlético club history.

Incidentally, the previous record for most goals and biggest win in the TELUS Canadian Championship was held by CF Montréal who beat Toronto FC 6-0 in 2013. Atlético defender, and Gatineau-native, Maxim Tissot (who started and captained Ottawa against Valour FC this week) was in Montréal’s starting line-up that day.
