This past weekend, Atlético Ottawa secured their first win of the 2023 Canadian Premier League season getting a clean sheet and scoring 5 goals against Vancouver FC. A historic night for the Atleti squad, there were many story lines to follow during and after the game.

First off, Ollie Bassett continued his incredible run of form finishing the match with a goal and assist. The goal he assisted on was Noah Verhoeven’s first for Atleti, and his first goal in the Canadian Premier League. Sam Salter also notched his first goal for Atleti on an assist by Jean-Aniel Assi. After subbing into the game, both Zach Verhoven and Zakaria Bahous joined the party scoring goals minutes apart from each other. Late in the game, we also got the opportunity to witness local product Tyr Walker make his professional debut for Atleti.
