There’s a long, storied history of the rivalry between Toronto vs Ottawa. Pick a sport, any sport, and the Toronto vs. Ottawa rivalry has probably boiled over at some point. Some may call it the Battle of Ontario, some may call it Onroutico, but the name is irrelevant when it comes to match day. It’s the nine stripes in town and you know it will be an absolute banger. This is the same York United that we eliminated from the 2024 CPL Playoffs in extra special fashion, besting them in penalty kicks. This is the same York United that saw some, um, let’s call it ‘tension’ between the two former coaches last year. Add to the mix that we also signed one of Canada’s brightest young stars (who played last year for York) defender Noah Abatneh. Lots going on here!!
