Ottawa, ON (25 janvier 2021) L’Atlético Ottawa a annoncé le retour du milieu de terrain Canadien Antoine Coupland.

Antoine s’est joint à l’Atlético Ottawa pour la saison inaugurale en 2020 à l’âge de 16 ans. Il avait terminé sa première saison en tant que professionnel en faisant trois apparitions avec le Ottawa Fury FC en 2019.

Coupland est un talent local et originaire de Chelsea, Québec. C’est un milieu de terrain gaucher, à l’aise avec le ballon à ses pieds et aime affronter les défenseurs.

Antoine a fait trois apparitions, jouant juste au-dessus de 100 minutes à sa première saison dans la Premier Ligue Canadienne avec l’Atlético Ottawa. Faisant ses débuts dans le deuxième match de la saison, il est devenu le plus jeune joueur de l’histoire de la ligue.

« Nous sommes très heureux d’accueillir de nouveau l’un des jeunes talents canadiens et les plus prometteurs pour la deuxième saison de notre franchise. Voir Antoine développer ses compétences sous la direction du personnel d’entraîneurs de l’Atlético a été spécial, nous avons hâte de le retrouver et de continuer à voir son amélioration. Avoir un acteur local de son âge et de son calibre est très important pour le projet que nous construisons », déclare Fernando Lopez, PDG.

Antoine Coupland se joint à Vashon Neufville, Ben McKendry, Brandon John et Malcolm Shaw en tant que cinquième joueur annoncé par l’Atlético Ottawa pour la saison 2021 de la CPL.

Ottawa, ON (January 25^th, 2021) Atlético Ottawa have announced the re-signing of Canadian midfielder Antoine Coupland.

Antoine joined Atlético Ottawa for their inaugural season in 2020 as a 16-year-old, coming off his first professional contract making three appearances with the now defunct Ottawa Fury FC.

Coupland is a local talent and a native of Chelsea, Quebec. He is a left-footed midfielder, comfortable with the ball at his feet and likes to take on defenders.

Antoine made three appearances, playing just south of 100 minutes in his first season in the Canadian Premier League with Atlético Ottawa. Making his debut in the second game of the season, he became the youngest player in the league history.

“We are very excited to have one of the most promising young Canadian talents back for the second season of the franchise. Seeing Antoine develop his skills under Atlético’s coaching staff has been special, we can’t wait to have him back and continue to see his improvement. Having a local player at his age and caliber is very important to the project we are building,” says Fernando Lopez, CEO.
