Atlético Ottawa has today confirmed that the contract of Canadian defender Zachary Roy has been extended for the 2024 Canadian Premier League (CPL) season with an option to extend until the end of 2025.

“I’m so happy to be back here, back home,” said Roy. “This will be my third year with the club now and it’s a club and city with who I feel really at home and happy. It’s a big year for me and I’m committed to giving everything. Pre-season has been fantastic so far, it’s really competitive but the group we have get along well off the pitch too. There are a lot of francophone players which is great. We’re all working really hard to make this a great season.”

“We are pleased to have Zach stay with the club for another season,” said Fernando López, CEO of Atlético Ottawa. “Zach is a talented young Canadian player who can greatly benefit from the competitive environment offered in Ottawa. He is still young and has plenty of room for growth, and we are looking forward to seeing how he develops this season.
