The Capital City Supporters Shine Bright As 70+ Members Made Their Way Down The 401 Highway

For the 3rd year in a row, Atletico Ottawa’s official supporters group (Capital City supporters group) hit the road to support the Rojiblancos as they faced off against Forge FC in Hamilton. Just two weeks ago, a large contingent of supporters travelled to the Toronto region when the club clashed against York United FC. Now, this marks their 5th road trip to support the boys in stripes, while also being their first expedition to Forge’s home grounds, Tim Hortons Field.

The bus departed at 12pm from TD Place as the group embarked on their journey chanting & singing down the 401 highway, with one stop at an OnRoute along the way. The supporters left their mark the second they entered the stadium. Through their chants and energy, the group displayed why they continue to have the reputation of being the best fans in the Canadian Premier League.

On top of supporting the team, the Capital City supporters had multiple friendly encounters with the Barton St. Battalion (Forge FC’s supporters group) during the game. Despite the loss, the fans showed their tremendous support until the final whistle and beyond, before hopping back on the bus to head back to Ottawa.

For Capital City Supporter’s Group member Alek Desjardins, the experience with the Atleti Family is what he relishes the most he says, “These trips help me feel closer to the game I love, while also being able to make memories that I will carry for the rest of my life!”
