Earlier this month, the longest-tenured Atlético Ottawa member Malcolm Shaw was selected as part of the preliminary Trinidad & Tobago squad ahead of the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup. After impressing in camp, Malcolm was named to the official 23-man roster for Trinidad & Tobago.
The announcement has been surreal for Malcolm, he said, “It’s still all sinking in for me. I’m very humbled and excited to be named to the final roster. This is a massive opportunity for Trinidad and myself, and I along with the rest of the guys are eager and ready to compete.”
The team is set to play 3 group-stage matches in the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Their first match will be on June 25 vs. Winner of Prelim 9, followed by their second match on June 28 vs. Jamaica and will end their group stage matches against USA on July 2nd. Now Malcolm will have the opportunity to face the fiercest competition that the CONCACAF region has to offer.
