Q: Who can apply for the AWIS initiative?

A: This program is open to any self-identifying female with a degree of sports experience. Sport Management students or students of other disciplines found in sports organizations (Marketing, PR, Social Media, Content Creation, Sales) are highly encouraged to apply. 

Q: Is this a paid position?

A: Yes. 100 per cent.  A competitive salary will be offered to the candidate. 

Q: How many positions are available?

A: There is 1 position available. 

Q: What are the hours of this position? 

A: This is an in-office 9 to 5 position. Some non-traditional work hours (evenings and weekends) are necessary due to the nature of the business with matches happening mostly on weekends.  

Q: What will I learn if accepted?

A: A wide array of knowledge about the inner workings of a sports organization. This position leans into the variety of positions that a front office has to offer. – with a focus on marketing, events, and community initiatives. 

Q: What is the timing of this program?

A: Start date is end of February/early March and will continue through to the end of season.  The potential to continue with the club on a full time basis. The application deadline is Sunday, Feb 11th, 2024.

Q: Who will I report to?

A: The Chief Operating Officer and Head of Marketing, Jon Sinden. As strengths and preferences show themselves, the reporting structure could change. 

Q: Is this in-person or remote position?

A: The location for this position is TD Place in Ottawa. There may be some remote video calls but the majority of time is spent in-office, in Ottawa.
