Atlético Ottawa Welcomes Association de Soccer du Plateau (ASP) to Powered By Program

Atlético Ottawa is excited to announce a new addition to the ‘Powered By Program’ in Gatineau-based youth club Association de Soccer du Plateau (ASP).

ASP is a newer addition to the local youth soccer landscape, having been founded in the summer of 2021 in reaction to the growing neighbourhood of ‘The Plateau’ in Gatineau, Québec. This neighbourhood is not only newer but also fast-growing with a diverse demographic in need of quality, local soccer programs which led to the creation of Association de Soccer du Plateau (ASP).

The demand, if assumed, is now clear to see with the club now consisting of close to 700 members, offering mixed groups from under-5s to under-8s which are complimented by boys and girls programs in under-10s and under-12s. In addition to these programs, there is a boy under-14s and now even a senior club all built on the values of fun, respect and the development of positive life habits.

“We’re always looking to improve our services to ASP members, and believe that by partnering with a club like Atlético Ottawa, we’ll have the opportunity to benefit from this experience, whether it’s at the tactical, technical or life values level associated with soccer,” said Dominique Lavoie, President of Association de Soccer du Plateau.

By joining the Powered By Clubs Program, ASP  will gain access to Atlético Ottawa’s extensive network, providing additional resources and expertise to support their growth and development. This partnership will also create opportunities for players to showcase their abilities in front of professional coaches, potentially opening doors for higher levels of competition.

ASP and Atlético Ottawa have formally entered into a partnership as of 2024.

Lavoie added: “Our aim is to work as a team with other soccer clubs in the region, to provide the best sports coaching for children and give them a taste for a lifetime of soccer.”

The Powered By Atlético Ottawa program, a collaboration between Atlético Ottawa, Atlético de Madrid, and the Canadian Premier League, currently supports multiple local soccer clubs across the region, including Ottawa South United, Ottawa City Soccer Club, Ottawa Gloucester Hornets, Gloucester Dragons, Russell Soccer Club, St. Anthony SC, Nepean Hotspurs Soccer Club, CS Aylmer, FC Petite Nation, Association de Soccer de Gatineau, Seaway Valley Soccer Club, Petawawa Minor Soccer Club and now Quinte West SC.
