Atlético Ottawa is top of the Canadian Premier League (CPL) table as the undefeated start to the season continued on Sunday with a convincing win over Valour FC. First-half goals from Rubén del Campo and Gabriel Antinoro secured three points for Ottawa in another match where thousands of soccer supporters turned out despite the rainy conditions.
KEY MOMENTS
- Atlético Ottawa climbed to the top of the Canadian Premier League table and remains undefeated in 2024 (3-1-0).
- Rubén del Campo gave Atlético the lead (19′) with a left-footed volley into the bottom corner from a set-piece.
- Exciting young talent Gabriel Antinoro doubled Ottawa’s lead, reacting quickest in the penalty area to convert Kris Twardek’s cross (32′).
- Ottawa put on another domain display, defending from the front as they won possession in Valour’s final third seven (7) times.
- Both goals Atlético’s goals were scored from set-pieces, capitalizing on a free-kick for the opening goal and a throw-in for the second.
