Match Lookahead: April 24 vs Valour FC

Fresh off the back of their record-breaking win last weekend, Altético Ottawa face Valour FC (Winnipeg) this Sunday at 3pm at TD Place. GET TICKETS HERE. This match is dedicated to the city’s First Responders and frontline workers, recognizing the monumental effort and tireless work they have put in, especially over the course of the past two pandemic years.

This is Ottawa’s last home game in their opening stretch, welcoming a Winnipeg side who are still hunting for their first win of the campaign. Atleti, on the other hand, have won back-to-back games for the first time in the club’s short history and are seeking to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

Quotes
  • Carlos González, Atlético Ottawa Head Coach: “I think that although they only have one point they are a very tough team. They don’t need much to create goal-scoring chances and danger for the other team. They have a good idea of how they want to play, a good identity and talent in the front. Our challenge is to gain control of the game because if we do I’m confident we can get a good result.”
  • Kwesi Loney, Atlético Ottawa Assistant Coach: “I’m very proud to see [former Carleton-Raven DeBrienne] apply his skillset in the CPL, it’ll be a great moment for me as a coach but, coming from Carleton we’re both big competitors. Once that game starts we are on opposite sides and we’re [Atlético Ottawa] going to do everything we can to win.”
  • Zachary Roy, Atlético Ottawa defender (made his professional debut last weekend): “The fans here, they surprised me you know! There are so many fans in the stadium, they have great energy throughout the whole game and that really pushes us on. They are so important and it pushes us to do more, to do better.”
