After their friendly preseason match against Atlético Madrid B, the team had a quick turnaround for their third preseason match in Spain against an experienced Getafe B team on March 16.
The training sessions between the matches were fairly light, focusing more on refining their tactical execution and physical recovery. Also, some of the guys let the fans know who their roommates are while the team is in Spain.
Entering their second match in four days, Atlético Ottawa came in looking for their first win of the preseason. A first half goal from Ollie Bassett and a solid defensive performance from the team helped secure the result as the team remains undefeated in Spain. On his 24th birthday, Miguel Acosta become the third different player to wear the captain’s armband following Carl Haworth and Maxim Tissot this preseason. After the game, the team received two days off from training to rest and recover.
