Atlético Ottawa’s primary jersey initiative, in partnership with Maple Lodge Farms, has reached a new milestone with over 5,000 meals being delivered to Ottawa residents through the Caldwell Family Centre.
The first delivery of nutritious frozen chicken products was made in May, with the initiative tied to Atlético’s “Community First Kit” providing 30 meals with the sale of each primary jersey throughout the 2024 Canadian Premier League (CPL) season.
To celebrate this milestone, Atlético and Maple Lodge Farms are making the purchase of the famous red and white stripes even more enticing with a 20% discount and Maple Lodge Farms vouching to double their donations for each kit sold between now and Friday (August 23).
Atlético returned to the top of the CPL table when they beat Pacific FC on Saturday, and the club continues to have a strong season on and off the pitch.
Ahead of the last of the three consecutive match road trip this weekend (away to Halifax), local players Kris Twardek, Luca Piccioli and Tyr Walker are heading out to the Caldwell Family Centre to meet residents and take part in the organization’s progressive food programming, donning aprons and getting in the kitchen.
As Ottawa’s jerseys continue to fly off the shelves, over 6,000 meals have already been delivered to the Caldwell Family Centre as the club bare down on the 10,000 meal target for the season.
Atlético’s next home match is on Saturday, August 31, as Vancouver FC visit TD Place (KO 7pm ET). It’s “La Fiesta” Night as we celebrate our Hispanic roots and bring a Latin-inspired party to Lansdowne. Click here to find out more.
