Where do we start with Fer, our fearless leader. What a run! Here is a quick snapshot of some of the highlights from the past 5 years.

1- STARTING ATLÉTICO OTTAWA FROM SCRATCH

The papers were signed. The name and logo were chosen. Starting a football club with one employee is no easy feet. Adding a team around him and support from Madrid and here we are. Feb 11th will always be known as our birthday.

2- FIRST HOME MATCH IN ATLÉTICO OTTAWA

What a day it was, 12,000+ packed into TD Place for Pay What You Can Homer Opener. Malcolm Shaw scored the first home goal in club history. We won the match 2-1 over Halifax.

3- 2022 CPL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL IN FRONT OF 15,000 STRONG

Our first final. Yes, we ended up falling short on the score sheet, but the league and the city was put on notice that soccer was here to stay.

4- FERNANDO’S FRENCH JOURNEY

He made a promise to fans, and kept it. Lopez’s promise to learn French came to fruition with a Radio-Canada a month ago.

5- A GROWING ATLETI FAMILY

The Atleti Family grows everyday, sometimes in expected and joyous ways. The supporters and fans are a big part of the soccer culture being created inside TD Place and beyond. All the while this effort was happening, another family started taking shape. Fernando’s family added a new addition in 2024. A baby girl!
