Atlético Ottawa announced on Thursday they have signed local player Omar Darwish to a Canadian Premier League Development Contract for the remainder of the season.
Product of West Ottawa Soccer Club, midfielder Omar Darwish (2005) had been identified through the Atlético de Madrid Development Program and signed a Development Contract with Atlético Ottawa last season. Following the end of the 2022 season, Omar remained part of the organization travelling with the team to Spain for Training Camp, and has been an integral piece of the OSU Atlético Ottawa squad.
“Omar has shown our technical staff that he can make the jump, and we look forward to seeing him continue to grow with this new opportunity,” said Fernando López, CEO of Atlético Ottawa.
