4 Atleti in Gatorade Team of the Week
Canadian Premier League

The Gatorade Team of the Week for the second week of Canadian Premier League action in 2025, brought to you by Kristian Jack and OneSoccer’s Oliver Platt.

CPL Team of the Week 2025 — Week 2

Goalkeeper

Nathan Ingham (Atlético Ottawa)

Despite the dominant scoreline in Atleti’s 4-1 victory over Vancouver FC, Ingham was called into action on a few crucial occasions, making two saves and a vital intervention when TJ Tahid got in behind in the first half.

Defenders

Khadim Kane (Forge FC)

Kane scored his first professional goal on a brilliantly designed set piece routine in Forge’s 2-0 win over Pacific FC on Saturday. Playing as a right back, he showed excellent defensive instincts, making four interceptions and winning possession seven times.

Alexander Achinioti-Jönsson (Forge FC)

The Forge defender opened his account for 2025 with a lovely flicked header in the 60th minute against Pacific on Saturday. He also won all five of his duels, and completed 92.3 per cent of his passes.

Kareem Sow (Halifax Wanderers)

Sow’s lovely ball over the top set up Tiago Coimbra’s winner for Halifax on Sunday. He was excellent in Halifax’s build out from the back, completing 61 of 67 passes against York United.

Midfielders

Nana Ampomah (Forge FC)

Ampomah was constantly dangerous for Forge down the right flank on Saturday, and incredibly unlucky not to earn an assist. He created three excellent chances, and was a threat throughout, with four attempted dribbles and 16 duels contested.

Manny Aparicio (Atlético Ottawa)

Aparicio helped Atlético Ottawa to dominate the midfield in Langley on Sunday with a traditional tireless performance. He won possession ten times, and completed 57 of 68 attempted passes.

Kyle Bekker (Forge FC)

As always, Bekker set the tempo of another outstanding Forge performance, attempting 22 passes in the final third, and 69 in total, 89.0 per cent of which found their target. He also came close to scoring his first of the season, rattling the crossbar on a brilliant second-half effort.

Kevin Dos Santos (Atlético Ottawa)

Dos Santos scored his first Atlético Ottawa goal on a beautiful curling strike in the 37th minute of Sunday’s match against Vancouver FC. It was the reward for a strong performance at wingback, where he created three chances and contested 15 duels.

Giorgio Probo (Halifax Wanderers)

Probo opened the scoring for the Halifax Wanderers on Sunday against York with a lovely free kick delivery that fooled Ivan Pavela. It was already his second goal of the season and came during an excellent performance in which he had four shot attempts, and 18 passes in the final third.

David Rodríguez (Atlético Ottawa)

For a second consecutive week, Rodríguez is featured in the league’s team of the week after another masterful performance, this time on the road against Vancouver. Rodríguez opened the scoring with a stunning individual effort before setting up Kevin Dos Santos for Atleti’s second.

Forwards

Tiago Coimbra (Halifax Wanderers)

Just over a minute into his first appearance of the season, off the bench at York, Coimbra made a great run in behind and an outstanding finish to open his account for 2025 and hand the Halifax Wanderers a 2-1 victory on Sunday.
