The Gatorade Team of the Week for the tenth week of Canadian Premier League action in 2023, brought to you by Charlie O’Connor-Clarke and Mitchell Tierney.
Goalkeeper
Rayane Yesli (Valour FC)
Yesli made six saves to add to his league-leading 38 saves made this season — picking up his league-leading fourth clean sheet. The 23-year-old keeper has now saved a stunning 3.78 more goals than expected this season as the Winnipeg side have allowed just nine goals in 10 matches.

Defenders
Carl Haworth (Atlético Ottawa)
Captaining his side on Saturday, the veteran was outstanding against Vancouver. He had two shots on target, three chances created, and won an impressive 10 of the 13 duels he contested and also three tackles, as he absolutely bossed his flank all match long.
Guillaume Pianelli (Valour FC)
Pianelli scored his first professional goal, which was ultimately the match-winner against Forge, on a brilliant first-half header on Friday night. The 25-year-old French defender also made two interceptions and three clearances as he helped Valour to yet another clean sheet at home.
Amer Didić (Pacific FC)
Didić was a force at the back once against for Pacific on Sunday afternoon, especially in the air where he won five of seven duels. He also made four clearances and won two fouls, while the Tridents kept their third clean sheet of the season.
Dante Campbell (Valour FC)
In his third position for Valour this season, Campbell thrived as he has in all of the others, doing an impressive job at left back of stopping Forge’s lethal right side of attack. He won seven of 10 duels, including all three he contested in the air, and made two interceptions during another tidy performance.
Midfielders
Sean Young (Pacific FC)
It is a stunning fifth appearance in the team of the week for Young, who scored a late header to give Pacific FC their third straight victory — this time against York United at Starlight Stadium. He also created two chances, and completed a tidy 23 of his 25 attempted passes.
Aidan Daniels (Halifax Wanderers)
With his second goal of the season, Daniels has already surpassed his CPL tally from all of 2022 with Halifax. He scored the winner against Cavalry on Saturday with a perfectly hit strike across goal. The attacking catalyst for the Wanderers in recent matches, Daniels also had two other shot attempts, and three attempted crosses.

Ollie Bassett (Atlético Ottawa)
It feels like whenever Atlético Ottawa have done something positive this season it comes off the back of a Team of the Week-worthy performance from their #10 and Saturday’s win against Vancouver was no different. Bassett created two chances on 23 passes attempted in the final third, while also winning possession back a stunning 11 times — including twice in the final third.
Forwards
Walter Ponce (Valour FC)
Ponce scored the goal of the weekend in the Canadian Premier on a thunderous volley to cap off an otherwise very solid performance. His biggest contribution, however, came defensively as the Chilean put in solid work rate to thwart many attacking moments for Forge, winning five tackles and 12 of 20 duels contested.
ANOTHER ONE! 👏
Walter Ponce secures a banger of a goal for @ValourFootball against @ForgeFCHamilton giving them a 2-0 lead.

Tiago Coimbra (Halifax Wanderers)
The 19-year-old striker scored his first goal for Halifax Wanderers just six minutes into Saturday’s contest against Cavalry FC. He was dangerous throughout his 70 minutes on the pitch, completing three of four attempted dribbles and contesting 14 duels as he pressed a Cavalry side looking to build out of the back.
Sam Salter (Atlético Ottawa)
Salter was back in the goals for Ottawa this weekend, with a quality finish to give Atleti just their third win of the season so far, 1-0 over Vancouver FC at home. Salter’s goal came on one of five shot attempts, while he also had two chances created while putting in a hardworking shift in which he contested 14 duels.
