Active Newcomer Youth Ottawa (ANYO) aims to make integration into Canadian life as seamless as possible, focusing on being active and with soccer at the heart.
Reuben Nashali, founder of ANYO, was recognized for his incredible community work last year as he and the organization were gifted a ‘Soccer Culture Kit’ – Atlético’s Alternate Jersey for 2024 – ahead of the new season.
Throughout the year, ANYO provides free-to-access events for newcomers, helping them make Ottawa a home as well as the place they now live.
Soccer is a core theme throughout their work. From EAFC games nights and indoor youth soccer practices in the winter to a comprehensive summer soccer league culminating in a grand final at TD Place in the summer. Accessibility remains at the core of their work.
Atlético Ottawa and ANYO are set to deepen their bond in 2025. Players and staff will be visiting the organization throughout the Spring months, with plans for a community combine and a theme game already well underway for the upcoming season.
Last year, former Atlético captain and midfielder Alberto Zapater visited TD Place to wish luck to the two finalists while over 100 players attended Atlético’s penultimate match of the season, celebrating the end of their season.
