Frida March 11: Palencia CF and Atletico de Madrid. Today we had our first training session with a local Spanish club, Palencia CF. After our training match with Palencia, the entire squad packed up their bags and loaded them onto the bus as it was time to move back to our Alcalá training location. That wasn’t all for the day though. In the evening, our parent club Atlético de Madrid invited us to come watch their match vs. Cadiz FC which was an experience like no other. There’s no better way to end an evening than with an Atleti victory!

Saturday March 12: Clinic & day off. After our training session with Palencia CF, those who needed it got some time in the clinic while others took advantage of the day off by touring around Alcalá. Some even travelled into downtown Madrid and became full fledged tourists for the day.

Sunday March 13: Today was a full rest day. Most of the team took the free time to travel into downtown Madrid and see what the city has to offer. With such a rigorous training schedule, it was a great change for the squad to have a full two days of rest & fun.

Monday March 14: We started off the week with only one session today. After almost two full days off, the boys were itching to get back out on the pitch and continue prepping for the upcoming season.
