Ottawa, ON (March 26, 2020) – Midfielder Tevin Shaw from Jamaica will be joining Atlético Ottawa for the 2020 season. The 23-year-old described as a box-to-box midfielder is the tenth addition to the club’s roster.
Shaw, 5’10” signed with Jamaican clubs Boys’ Town in 2014 when he was 17 years old and played with them until 2016 when he joined Tivoli Gardens through 2019. Most recently he was with Portmore United.
“We are pleased to announce today Tevin as Atlético Ottawa player,” said Club CEO Fernando Lopez. “He is a very skilled defensive midfielder that will bring to the team a wide range of possibilities. He is able to high pressure opponents, make smart tackles, recover balls and move the team sideline to sideline with quality and precise crossings.”
The international has six caps for Jamaica since making his national team debut in 2018.
“Becoming a part of the Atlético family is something I’m very excited about,” said Shaw. “Playing football with such a historic club, becoming a part of the Canadian Premier League and getting an opportunity to play in front of the fans in Ottawa and the rest of Canada is something I am looking forward to.”
Shaw is the tenth player to officially join Atlético Ottawa, joining previous signings Ben Fisk, Antoine Coupland, Malyk Hamilton, Ajay Khabra, Michel Djaozardy Ricky Gomes, Kunle Dada-Luke, Brandon John and Vashon Neufville.
